Design Industry Assessment Task

I have finished my Assessment for Design Industry, which means now we get to work on some fun stuff next!! Looking forward to more photoshop work and fine tuning my skills! Through the Assessment task I found a brush pack that I am looking forward to experimenting with J

The artwork shown on the right was done incorporating the smoke brush by Kerby Rosanes. I took some time to look at his personal blog and found it quite inspirational. He is extremely talented.

My wish list - #2 Blue Microphone Snowball USB Microphone

#2 Upgrade my microphone!

Blue Microphones Snowball USB Microphone
(Electric Blue)

Arguably one of the coolest designed USB microphones today, this Snowball mic is still a favorite among users despite being released seven years ago. Its easy to use USB output connects instantly to any desktop or notebook allowing for CD-quality recordings. The dual capsule design incorporates omnidirectional and cardioid pick-up, giving users the option to collect sounds from every direction, or to cancel out unwanted background noise. Also included is a desktop stand to begin recording right away.

Design Industry Activity

Hello! sorry I have been MIA for a few weeks. My children all caught a nasty bug then they gave it to me, so there was a week full of fun lol! and then there has been Easter Break...
Happy Belated Easter Everyone!! Btw if easter bunny didnt come to you please let me know as there is still a truckload of chocolate in this house... Probably enough for a small army lol

Now break is over and its time to get back to work! I have been working on Design Industry Activities. There were a range of things to work through, the part I found most interesting was researching 'Trends'

The Ying Yang

Design Learning Activity

I really enjoyed these activities and found it quite interesting learning about the impact basic design methods can deliver. I actually spent hours working on activity A as I kept changing my mind with my designs but I got there in the end and am happy with the results :)

Activity A

In this activity we needed to choose three words from a list and make two separate designs for each word using positive and negative space. We then needed to chose our favourite of the two.

Learning Activity - Black Square

In this activity we were given six words: Order, Increase, Bold, Congested, Tension and Playful.

We had to use black squares to express these words to create an image for each one. We also had to look through magazines and advertising material to find examples that demonstrate the categories.

It was interesting looking at the different arrangements as you don't normally realise the impact that image placement has until you stop and pay attention.

My wish list - #1 Mouse - Belkin n52te Gaming Mouse

I have decided to start a dream wish list of things I would like for my home setup. Every so often I will post a new product I would like, Im sure I can come up with 10 things for the list!

Now.......Someone buy this for me pleaaaassseee, it will help with my work, I promise! LOL!!

#1 Upgrade my mouse!

Belkin n52te Gaming Mouse

Now this is something really unique. Belkin, the design masters have come up with an accessory which on the first look seems like a new kind of device but is actually a simple mouse with all kinds of customisation buttons. The Belkin n52te gaming mouse is really impressive in looks with 15 programmable buttons, a cool blue back light and am 8-way thumb pad with removable joystick. A soft touch wrist pad for enhanced ergonomics also really get this one going. Once you try it, you find a whole lot of things to like.
